Your pathway to respiratory health

1
Consultation
Initial consultations last around 30 minutes and involve discussing your clinical history and performing a physical examination to help identify a potential cause of your symptoms.
We will then whether further diagnostic tests are required and identify a timeframe in which these can be done.

I want to know what you expect and together we will make a plan about how to move forward.
2
Diagnosis
Diagnostic tests are often required to investigate your symptoms. Some of these can be done on the same day (blood tests, chest x-ray) and others will need to be booked for a later date (lung function, CT scans).
Rest assured you will be informed of all test dates and times and when the results are available.
Our patient portal means you always have access to your information when you want it.
3
Management
Once a diagnosis is reached, you may require treatment. Some conditions may involve advice only and others nothing specific. It isn’t always about taking medication.
I will discuss any indicated treatment with you in detail and inform you of important benefits as well as risks.
We will make plans to follow things up when it suits you.

To ensure long-term care of your medical condition, we always inform your general practitioner of ongoing issues and new medication

Self paying or have health insurance?
Dr Patel welcomes self-funding patients and those with medical health insurance. Dr Patel is registered and recognised by most major medical health insurers.
Before your first consultation you will receive a document that outlines how any fees are issued and what is included in a consultation with me.
